Advert: TILLY AND CUB

We sell fair trade Moses Baskets which are handmade in Ghana. Each basket takes four days to weave using traditional techniques and natural plant dyes. The artisans are paid appropriately for their work and skills which enables them to support themselves, their families and local communities.

Because they are handmade, each basket in unique. Unlike so much of the plastic we buy for babies, which ends up in the loft, Tilly + Cub baskets will become part of the family. Once the baby has outgrown it they're perfect for toy storage, or a snuggly toddler hang out (my 2.5 year old loves sitting in her's with the IPad). 

Each baskets comes with a custom made mattress, produced in the UK to ensure it meets the strictest safety requirements.

A donation from each purchase is made to two charities. The first is Afrikids which supports children in the very areas the baskets come from. The second is a UK based charity which will change periodically. It is currently SANDS UK, to honour the families of, and memories of the fifteen babies lost in the UK every day to Stillbirth, or who die shortly after birth, and all those pregnancies which end in loss.

We will also be selling sheets for the Moses baskets (as well as a limited number of cot sheets) which have been hand designed and hand printed in the UK. 

And coming soon are toy Moses baskets, so older siblings can have a matching baby bed for their teddies.
